Manchester United and Turkish Airlines sponsorship deal.

Turkish Airlines signed a big sponsorship deal for 3,5 years with Football club Manchester United. Turkish airlines replace Air Asia as the official transport partner of the team from Manchester. The exact financial details are not released, but insiders are talking about a multi million pound deal.  

With 12.000 employees and 25 million passengers over the last year, Turkish Airlines is one of the biggest airline company’s in Europe. Turkish Airlines operates from Manchester airport, Birmingham, Stansted and Heatrow (London). Turkish Airlines is a member of the Star Alliance grouping of airlines. BMI, United Airlines and Lufthansa are also a member of this grouping. Last year Turkish Airlines signed another million pond deal with one of Europe’s best football clubs FC Barcelona.

The deal with Manchester United is signed a day after the club announced that their debt has risen to a record of 716 million pond. The sponsorship income of last year has grown with 48% of Manchester United and the shirt sponsor Aon (American finance group) pays 80 million pound each year.

The players and staff of Manchester United are also participating in a new TV commercial for Turkish Airlines. Several players are making a few nice football moves and tricks in a flying airplane of Turkish Airlines. At the end of the commercial Goalkeeper Edwin v/d Sar saves a shot of Wane Rooney and prevents a shot in the face of club legend sir. Bobby Chalton.
